Indomitus, as it is known among the pokémon population, was just like any other region generations ago. Humans were relatively new to the region, but they quickly began to colonize the region in partnership with their pokémon. But suddenly, just as soon as the humans arrived, they vanished. Having left few clues among their deserted homes and empty towns, it left the wild pokémon population wondering what could have caused the humans to flee so suddenly and silently. Many years later, rumors have begun to circulate about the return of the humans. Mysterious humanoid figures has been spotted wandering the Indomitus wilderness, emitting a dark aura and attacking pokémon on sight with their ghostly powers. Did the humans really leave, or is there a darker force at play?
Izra'il lifted his head as he entered this strange new town. The human constructed cabins gave him the chills as he stared at them as he walked along nervously. "Hello?" He called meekly, hoping a kind face would show and that they would swoop in and take care of him. He was hungry.
There was nothing strange about a Gardevoir in Noble Town, especially not when so many fairy types called the forest surrounding the town home. What was strange was for this particular Gardevoir to be in Noble Town, having avoided it even on his personal travels. His father always made a point to avoid the town like the plague, so that feeling of unease rubbed off on him. He never received an answer from his father when he questioned him, and while he could have easily invaded his privacy and simply looked into his mind for answers, he never did.
As a researcher, he would find out the truth on his own. Taking so many years to find the courage to make his way to Noble Town was just a small smear on his reputation as a pursuer of knowledge.
The tip of his quill glided across the page of his journal as he recorded his daily entry, having already found out more than enough just by asking around the locals. Yet his investigation had already drained more energy from him than he would ever like to admit; personal affairs were more tiring than uncovering the lost secrets of the region.
The quill paused mid-sentence as a small voice called out, and red eyes glanced up from the shaded spot he stood, leaning against a cabin, to find a Deerling who looked lost and out of his element. Poor thing; must be from the wilderness. Prudence quickly finished his sentence and blew on the ink to help it dry before he closed his journal, bookmarking his page with the quill. Holding it close to his chest with one arm, the Gardevoir took long, quiet steps toward the young Pokemon. "Are you lost, dear?"
TAG:Sparrow NOTE: hope you don't mind me invading~
The small Deerling's ears swiveled around, picking up every small little sound until a voice rang out. Spooked, the little Pokemon leaped into the air and turned to face the stranger with bright eyes. He blinked, looking at the Gardevoir for threats, but it was easy to see this Pokemon's calm and gentle nature right off the bat. Izra'il relaxed immensely and let out a breath he had been holding. "Y-yes." He quickly admitted, looking into Prudence's eyes. He kept his hooves close together and his shoulders slightly hunched in a cower. His ears kept back as if listening for any dangers, as if there were any. "But it's okay if you can't help me. You seem busy." He regarded the book in the Gardevoir's arms.
The Gardevoir blinked in surprise, his steps momentarily stilling as the Deerling leaped in fright at the sound of his voice. Well, now he knew how he might look to others when he was too absorbed into his studies to notice someone approach; it was one of the few times he let his guard down enough to ignore even his psychic senses.
A small, albeit hesitant, smile lifted to his lips as he sought his composure and approached once more. Prudence crouched down before the cowering Deerling, ignoring the way his skirt haphazardly strew itself on the grass. "Ah, don't mind this," he glanced to his journal before returning his attention to the Deerling. "I always carry it with me, even when I'm on vacation." His smile briefly flashed with embarrassment. "I'm Prudence. What is it you need, dear?"
He had no idea how to handle children, and he did not know how much help he would be when he was a mere traveler himself. Of course, that was under the assumption the fawn was expecting to remain in Noble Town.
Despite the Gardevoir's growing closeness, the Deerling found his fear ebbing away. He studied the book that Prudence assured was nothing. Slowly he looked to his eyes and thought about the question. "Prudence.." He tested the name, making sure he had it right. "I.. don't know. I'm a little hungry, and tired." He hated that he felt like he was complaining, but it was true. He straightened his posture a bit and risked taking his eyes off Prudence to look around, "This place is creepy."
Oh, dear. If he wanted a place to rest, then he would have to stay in the town, lest he want to return to the forest and find a burrow to sleep in or a tree to sleep against. With a soft hum of thought on his lips, Prudence glanced around the town, hoping to find someone he could possibly board the Deerling with for the night. He did not want to bother the Pokemon who had already assisted him with his research, and going to his extended family, whom he had never heard of until today, would only petrify the kid.
"I find it comfortable, but I guess I have more experience than you. I grew up in a house, and creepy doesn't bother me since my father is a ghost." With a soft chuckle, he motioned for the Deerling to following him as he turned away. "Let's find you something to eat, first."
